Rates can be calculated from the bookmakers in different formats. There are three different formats: the European format that UK-format and the U.S. format. The European format is specified in decimal. The ratio represents the ratio of use to potential profit. The amount to be paid is calculated by multiplying the use of the odd. Sets example to in the example above 100 euros that Stuttgart wins, the payout is 150 euros (1.5 * 100 Euro). To calculate the profit, you have to subtract from the amount paid to use. Here the gain is 50 euros (150 euros – 100 euros), or use the following formula:
- 100 * (1.5 – 1)
UK: rates indicate the potential profit. In the above example, the UK rates are the following:
- Victory Stuttgart: 1/2
- Draw: 13/5
- Hanover win: 5/1
It is reset to a victory of Stuttgart. The profit results here by multiplying the ratio with the use of (1/2 * 100 = € 50 Euro), the payoff obtained from the following formula:
- (Odds + 1) * Use, so here: (1/2 + 1) * 100 = € 150 Euros
U.S. odds are expressed as positive or negative ratios. The negative rates display thereby the required operating for a profit of 100 units, plus odds of winning a bet of 100 units. The plus or minus sign in this case have no mathematical significance. The calculation of the payout and the profits are always positive values. In our example, the U.S. rates would be:
- Stuttgart victory: – 200
- Draws: + 260
- Hannover victory: + 500
We bet first back 100 euros for a victory of Stuttgart. The payment amount is based on the following formula:
- Use * (1 + 100: Quote), in this case: 100 Euros * (1 + 100 200) = 150 euros, the income from this formula:
- Use * (100: Quote) subtract = 50 euros, but you can also simply use the payment amount, in this case: 100 € * (200 100)
Now bet that Hanover wins. The payment amount is calculated as follows:
- Use * (1 + rate: 100), i.e. EUR 100 * (1 + 500 100) = 600 euros
The profit is calculated using the following formula:
- Use * (ratio: 100), or 100 euros * (500 100) = 500 euros, you can of course also here simply subtract the use of the payout
